The federal trading networks practically buy Turkish vegetables and fruit, the import of which may be forbidden in Russia next week. This was announced by RNS Chairman of the Presidium of the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT) Ilya Lomakin-Rumyantsev.
"In our stores, if you mean AKORT (the share of Turkish fruit and vegetables -. RNS) is almost zero, if not zero - we checked it," - said Lomakin-Rumyantsev. "In large federal networks, taking into account all the difficulties that we have experienced in December, the proportion of small, it is virtually zero," - he added.
The structure AKORT includes the largest Russian food networks, including "Magnit», X5 Retail Group (manages networks "Crossroads", "Pyaterochka", "Carousel"), "Dixie", "Lenta", "Okay", " Auchan », Metro, and so on. d.
Turkish fruit and vegetable imports to Russia may be completely banned in the next week due to the systematic detection of quarantine objects in them, said Thursday RNS Assistant Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Alexey Alekseenko. This week, the Rosselkhoznadzor has banned from 16 May delivery in Russia lettuce and iceberg lettuce from Turkey. Earlier this year, the Office had banned the delivery of the Turkish pepper, eggplant and pomegranate.
On January 1 2016, Russia banned the import of a number of Turkish agricultural products. The list includes some vegetables (tomatoes, onions, shallots, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumber), fruits (oranges, tangerines, apples, pears, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums) and berries (strawberries, strawberry).
