Milk prices in the US fell due to record yields

US dairy cows produced in 2016, the record volumes of milk, which led to the lowest prices on milk in the last six years. This was reported Bloomberg, citing data from the US Department of Agriculture (Department of Agriculture, DoA).

It is noted that while maintaining the rate of milk production, the industry can break all previous records in terms of production volumes.

In some states, milk supplies are becoming so burdensome for farmers and processors that the industry is trying to find new options for storing them, the agency said.

It is noted that the fall in milk prices has also led to a reduction in prices for all other dairy products.
