Minsk and Moscow will approve the volume of product shipments

Forecast balances of Belarusian food supplies to Russia for the next year are scheduled to be approved in January-February, Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Zayats said in Minsk on Tuesday.

“We plan to approve supply balances in January-February. In 2017, we plan to deliver at least 4,1 million tons of milk and dairy products to Russia, over 300 thousand tons of meat and meat products, ”said Hare at a press conference.

The forecast balances of supplies for the current year are 390 thousand tons of meat and meat products and 4 million tons of milk and dairy products. However, Minsk stated that Belarusian enterprises would be ready to increase supplies at the request of the Russian Federation.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food also said that negotiations are continuing with the Russian side on the resumption of deliveries of products from Belarusian enterprises, from which exports to the Russian Federation have so far been suspended.

The minister said that the topic of lifting temporary restrictions on the supply of dairy products from 10 Belarusian enterprises, in particular, was discussed in October in Moscow. According to him, there is an understanding that the Rosselkhoznadzor needs to “carefully look” at the claims to enterprises, since it is impossible not to ship products from them to Russia for such a long time.

“The Minister of Agriculture of Russia decided to entrust the Rosselkhoznadzor with a close look at these enterprises and decide on the resumption of supplies of Belarusian products to the Russian market,” he said.
