Putin has promised to pull the cancellation kontrsanktsy

Russia will be as long as possible to delay the abolition of the response to Western sanctions. On Tuesday, November 22, President Vladimir Putin said.

"We will pull as long as possible," Putin said at the All-Russian Popular Front forum, responding to a question about Russian counter-sanctions.

According to the president, Russia has not imposed sanctions, and took retaliatory measures to restrict the supply of agricultural products to a number of countries to protect the domestic market.

"We really did it consciously and, in fact, taking advantage of those, frankly, short-sighted decisions that have been taken against our country by our so-called partners, to introduce the sanctions", - said the president. Thus, Russia has created the conditions for agricultural production in the country.

"Of course, all manufacturers in the country are interested in seeing that this situation lasted as long as possible", - said the head of state. However, he stressed that the consumer is interested in obtaining good quality products at the lowest price, and it needs to create competitive conditions.

16 October, Vladimir Putin, answering journalists' questions about the possible mitigating response to Western sanctions, said. "Figure it" "We did it, where it was advantageous for us to do, and we will not do anything to punish someone, punish yourself - buy a ticket and go, so we will not do" - he stressed.

In early July, the EU has extended economic sanctions against Russia until January 31 2017 years. The same day, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the extension kontrsanktsy with 6 2016 August till December 31 2017 years.

A number of countries, including the United States and Member States of the European Union, have introduced restrictive measures against Russia in 2014 year, linking them with the occurrence of the Crimea to the Russian Federation, and then - with the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine. In response, August 6 2014, Moscow imposed an embargo on the import of products from these countries.
