Russia has limited the importation of poultry from a number of European countries

Russia has imposed restrictions on the import of poultry and poultry products from several regions of Poland, Sweden, Germany and Hungary. Restriction is introduced at the direction of the Rosselkhoznadzor for registration in these regions of Newcastle disease, according to Rosselkhoznadzor press service of the Republic of Mordovia and Penza region.

On December 16 Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia of live birds and hatching eggs from the area Vechta Lower Saxony in Germany.

Also 17 December Rosselkhoznadzor restricted the import into Russia of live birds and hatching eggs, poultry meat, finished meat products from poultry and all kinds of poultry products and feed additives for poultry from Poland Lubuskie province and county of Skåne in Sweden. Similar restrictions are introduced for a number of regions of Hungary (counties Bács-Kiskun, Csongrád, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok).

At the same time introduced restrictions on transit through Russia of live birds from these regions.
