Rosselkhoznadzor (RSHN) appealed to Belarus with a request to stop re-export of quarantine fruits from Pakistan to the territory of Russia, RIA Novosti reports referring to the agency’s message.
Fruits received on the territory of Russia, accompanied by re-export phytosanitary certificates issued by the State Inspection for seed-growing, quarantine and protection of plants Belarus.
"... Rosselkhoznadzor addressed to the Belarusian side to stop the issuance of phytosanitary certificates for re-export of fruit and vegetables originating Islamic Republic of Pakistan", - said the agency.
It is also noted that the Rosselkhoznadzor held talks with the deputy director general of the Department for Protection of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research Plant of Pakistan Muhammad Tariq Khanom.
"Given the increased risks of illegal exports of vegetable products of European origin through the Republic of Belarus related to the introduction Russian economic constraints, Rosselkhoznadzor expressed concern and questioned the validity of the logistics of fruit supply routes, including pears fresh from Pakistan to the EU, Belarus and further re-export fruit in Russia, "- said in a statement.
The Pakistani side confirmed that fruit exports directly to Belarus and stressed that the supply of fruits and vegetables, including pears are not carried out in the European Union.
