Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said the state priority support breeding and seed production as a strategic industry, hypothetical sanctions in respect of which could threaten national security.
"You're one hundred percent right, that is the question, in fact, national security ... If we at some point cut off the supply of seeds, any sanctions will be announced ... We now understand you, they are the sanctions introduced there just like that (clicked fingers) for various reasons, mainly political. I have no confidence that someone would never climb up to say: well, let us in this direction and walk ... Then, for us it will be a very serious problem, "- said Medvedev at a meeting with farmers.
"Therefore, we must be sure to do everything possible to revive the activities of modern breeding and seed production", - he stressed the head of government.
