The company "Sol Russia" began construction of the largest in Russia plant for the production of salt and development of the field in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The project is estimated at 5 billion rubles.
After the commissioning, the plant will be able to replace supplies of imported high-purity salt for many industries of Russian industry.
"We had to go to the site in October, and we did it," said Stanislav Cherkasov, head of the "Sol Rusi" company, TASS reported. The company began to develop the Belbazh deposit of rock salt in the Koverninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
"The first preparatory stage is realized from the fall of this year until the next spring. At this time, the exploration and preparation for the construction of the main complex will be carried out. The laying of the first stone will take place in the spring of 2017. At the same time, the construction of an accompanying infrastructure will begin, "Cherkasov noted.
The plant will be built by the fall of 2018, at the beginning of 2019 the company will start supplying salt to consumers. At the first stage, the production capacity of the enterprise will be 600 thousand tons of salt of the highest purification level per year. The factory will create about 300 jobs. In about a year the enterprise will be able to issue up to 1 million tons of salt per year, and the number of jobs will increase to 400.
Salt produced by the "Extra" salt will help strengthen the raw material independence of consumer companies within the framework of the state security doctrine. At present, the chemical industry and other industries in Russia are experiencing an acute shortage of high-purity salts, which leads to disruptions in supplies and high purchase prices for foreign salt. This product can replace the salt of a high degree of purification, currently imported from a number of foreign countries, "Cherkasov said.
"Sol Russia" - PAO, was established to manage the project to develop the Belbazhsky rock salt deposit in the Koverninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The company's capitalization is 9,1 billion rubles. Salt reserves at the Belbazhsky salt deposit exceed 2,5 billion tons.
